From the Iowa Department of Transportation:

Weather permitting, the ramp from Penn St. to I-380 southbound will be closed for up to 2 months, beginning the morning of Wednesday, July 29. The ramp is anticipated to reopen by Monday, September 28. During this closure, construction crews will be working on reconstruction of the ramp.

Traffic will be detoured on Penn St toward Highway 965, and head south to Forevergreen Rd. See the map provided below for additional detour details.

Goodbyes are never easy. Today we celebrate the life of Bruce Eichmeyer a very dear & long time friend to our family & support throughout the years to Philipp/Philipp’s Trucking. We will miss you & your very unique sense of humor. Our love & prayers go out to his family.

Construction on the Morse Road improvement project between Highway 1 and Wapsi Avenue is expected to begin today, Thursday, July 30. Construction activities will also take place on Turner Avenue.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane during working hours and directed by flaggers and pilot cars. Both lanes will reopen to traffic each night.

During construction, Morse Road will be fully closed for approximately 4 days on a 600-foot section beginning at Highway 1. Electronic message boards will provide advance notice of the closure dates.

Construction is anticipated to be completed by early September 2026.
