🚨 Drone Safety Reminder 🚨

Cedar City Regional Airport operations were temporarily halted earlier today for approximately 30 minutes due to a drone sighting in the airport traffic pattern.

Flying a drone in controlled airspace—especially near an airport—is not only dangerous, it’s illegal. Pilots rely on clear, predictable airspace to safely land and depart. A single drone can put passengers, crew, and aircraft at serious risk.

Before you fly, know the rules:
✈️ Stay clear of airports and controlled airspace
📱 Check airspace restrictions using FAA-approved apps
🛑 When in doubt—don’t fly

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Cedar City Regional Airport! 🍀

We may not have found a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow—but we got pretty close. 🌈✈️

After a passing storm, this stunning rainbow lit up the airfield just in time for some golden-hour views. Days like this remind us there’s a little magic in aviation (and in Southern Utah skies).

✈️ Supporting Our TSA Team During the Shutdown ✈️

With the current government shutdown impacting so many, we’ve once again set up a donation table in the terminal to support our local TSA officers who continue to show up every day without pay.

If you’re able to help, donations of nonperishable food, household essentials, or gift cards can be dropped off at the table near the main lobby. Your support goes a long way in helping these dedicated professionals who keep our airport safe and running smoothly.

You may have noticed a temporary control tower at Cedar City Regional Airport this week. The tower supports aviation students from Southern Utah University as they gain valuable hands-on experience with tower communications and operations as part of their training.

Over the three-day period, FAA-certified controllers staffed the tower and managed more than 1,000 takeoffs and landings, keeping aircraft moving safely and efficiently while showcasing just how busy the airport can be in a variety of weather conditions.

We had a couple beautiful corporate jets at Cedar City Regional Airport the other week!

These two aircraft are better known as the Global Express, a long-range business jet built by Bombardier. With intercontinental range, impressive speed, and a spacious cabin, it’s designed to connect cities across the world nonstop.

It’s always exciting to see aircraft of this class make a stop in Cedar City. You never know what might roll onto our ramp next!

❄️ New equipment on the ramp! ❄️

Cedar City Airport just added a brand-new MB-4 snow blower to the fleet—just in time for the holiday season. This beauty replaces our longtime Oshkosh blower that was remanufactured back in 1983 and served us well.

The MB-4 has the capacity to move up to 7,500 tons of snow per hour and cast it at distances up to 250 feet!

We’re ready for winter operations… now we just need the snow! ☃️✈️
