On the way to the 2026 BAT last week, Elizabeth was attacked by a rogue toolbox. The toolbox jumped off the back of an oncoming truck, and positioned itself directly in her line. Elizabeth and her WR were fairly injured from the ordeal.

We put a donation helmet out at the ride to help her along through the recovery, and I’m happy to share that such a small crew if 15-20 riders was able to donate $735 to help get her back on the road. I’m proud of the group I ride with. I’m proud of my sport. You’ll meet the best people on a *backroad*. Thank you to everyone who shared a donation.

Once again, I want to throw Big appreciation to a few who provided inspiration for this weekend’s ride and my full WV1k route. The trans-Virginia adventure trail is an awesome route that transverses VA and WV. I rode parts of the route, and found some really cool places to take us. And then the and crew - not just for the routes that they’ve created, but for all of the work that they’re doing in this area. If you want to support real people, doing real good for Appalachia, go find a way to help these guys out. They’re supporting motorsports, they’re supporting Appalachia, and they are real people, helping real people.
