An extremely exciting past two days for Hero's Hero! Yesterday we took all of the carnations that were donated to us (over 100) and all of the Hershey Kiss Roses that we made (over 300). down to Evansville Elementary for our first fundraiser. We did a good job! we made about $40.00. Yeah it may not have been a lot, but for only 1 week of announcement time, we did pretty good our first year! We hope to make it back next year for a bigger profit!

Today we set our table up at the Smith's grocery store, planning to stay there for 3 hours. we still had about 200 Hershey Kiss roses too many carnations to count. In the first hour we sold all of our Hershey Kiss roses. in the Second hour we sold all of our carnations that we had. We brought home a profit of $350.00 total! An amazing first fundraiser for Hero's Hero!

We have had our 3rd and 4th meeting in the past 2 weeks.

Topics Addressed: February Care Package
Fundraiser organization
Non profit bank account

Topic 1:
We have lots of ideas for what we would like to include in our care package for the month of February. We are of course doing a Valentines Day theme. We have Sweet Hearts, Little valentines baggies, Some finger nail polish for the females, a small box of chocolate, Hershey kiss roses, and a small plush animals. and Valentine cards are of course going to make it into our boxes.

We are hoping to have the boxes ready to ship by next week!

Topic 2:
With Valentines Day fast approaching we are trying to organize a fundraiser at Tristan's school: Centennial Junior High. We have started working on our Carnation Donation. in the past 2 weeks we have visited with every flower shop in town to see if they would be willing to donate 50 carnations and a few floral items to help us out with the creation of our Hershey Kiss roses. Out of the 6 flower shops we talked to, only 2 of them are helping us out.

Our deepest thanks goes out to All About Flowers, and Nate's Flowers and things both of Casper, Wyoming!

We are trying to get 300 carnations and right now we are 200 short, but we will not be deterred we are making extra Hershey Kiss roses, and will also use them for our fundraiser.

We will be using both the carnation and Hershey Kiss roses to sell to the students of Centennial Junior High. We will take orders the first week of February and we will sell the carnations for $2 and 2 kiss roses for $1. We will hand them out Friday February 12th.

We have talked to Tristan's principal and he has high hopes for our club! We need to get all of our dates approved by for our fundraiser organized but otherwise we are filling our time with getting all of our kiss roses made!

We have been talking to Hill Top Bank to set up a non profit account for Hero's Hero. This will hopefully be happening in the next month. So you will soon be able to write checks out to Hero's Hero instead of to my son, me or my husband! YAY!

If you are interested in donating money to help us out with our fundraiser or shipping for our care packages please make your check out to Tristan Lewton

2nd meeting of Hero's Hero was held today.

Topics addressed: Care Package preparation
January Donation Drive
January Fundraiser ideas
Topic 1:
We are wanting to send at least 3 care packages at the end of January. In order to do that we are going to need at least $54.00 to ship the packages. We will also need to fill the boxes with something!
Our plan: We want to have a donation drive, and a backward shirt day at school to raise the funds to ship all of the packages!

Topic 2:
We spent the day talking about what kind of donation we wanted to do, and settled on a homeroom (Mirp) Donation Drive Contest. We will have a list of donations that we are looking for posted on a box that will be placed in each classroom. The drive will last for 1 week, and we want to have a classroom prize for the classroom that donates the most items.
Winning Classroom will receive and pop and candy party!

Topic 3:
We thought about a various different fundraisers and settled on a backward shirt day. We talked about having each person donate at least $1.00 to wear their shirt backward, for every dollar they donate they will be entered to win 1 of 4 prizes.
Grand Prize: 12 pack of pop of their choice and $5.00
First Place: $5.00
Second Place: 1 Free Large Blizzard from Dairy Queen
Third Place: box of popcorn and 2 liter bottle of pop.

We also talked about getting some of the prize items donated so that we would have a 100% profit.

This is the last meeting that we will have until next year! Wishing you all a Merry Christmas! Whether you are home or away, may you find the Christmas Spirit inside you this year! From all of us at Hero's Hero
