What is the 45-minute rule?
Behind the ticket counter, there's a lot of work that needs to happen before your bag reaches the aircraft door. Your bag must be tagged, screened, sorted, and transported across the ramp and loaded onto the aircraft while boarding is underway and crews are preparing the flight.
After boarding begins, there's only a small window of time left to safely process additional bags. That's why airlines enforce a baggage cutoff time. Even if a flight is delayed, the original baggage cutoff is still in effect, that way if the delay resolves faster than expected, you aren't waiting extra time for bags to be reprocessed or processed for the first time.

We may not have a Jimothy of our own, but there is plenty of wildlife that you can find when you visit C/NCIA.

No, we do not plant them for visitors, and yes, they are real wild animals so please remember to stay aware and give them space.

Yesterday, we got to bring our new snowplows to the Airport. Yep, you read that right, we got new snowplows in the middle of summer.

The new plows were ordered in early 2025, and we actually received them earlier than expected.

We think this means another naming competition is in our future ๐Ÿ‘€โ„

No matter the season, our maintenance teams work to keep the grounds at the airport safe and clear. In the summer, that includes mowing, including around the airfield.

While out mowing, Billy has to communicate with ground control and the air traffic control tower while he maneuvers between taxiways and runways to reach different areas.

Our mower deck is set to 5 inches off the ground keeping it within the FAA recommended mowing height of 6 inches or less. This height keeps wildlife from hiding in it; while out mowing, Billy keeps an eye out for wildlife and reports it to our public safety team if he has any concerns. The height of the grass also allows emergency vehicles to safely maneuver without kicking rocks or debris onto the runways or taxiways.

Thank you, Billy, for taking us along for a ride, providing some extra info on the work you do mowing, and for all your hard work!

We had a great time participating in the parade yesterday showing off one of our ARFF trucks!

Since we heard a few folks asking as we drove past, this is one of our airplane firefighting trucks (ARFF stands for aircraft rescue and firefighting), and here in Casper, we host the regional ARFF training facility.

The history of C/NCIA is rooted in the American tradition of protecting our freedoms, just look at our beginning as an Army Air Base during WWII. While we don't operate as a military base anymore, serving our community and a variety of flying visitors, is our honor.

Today, we're sharing a collage of just a few of the recent military aircraft that have visited our airport. To all members of our armed forces, thank you for your service.

To our travelers and our Wyoming community, have a safe and happy Independence Day.
