A river cruise usually leans more into destination time, a smaller ship feel, and included experiences. 🏰
An ocean cruise usually gives you more onboard variety, more entertainment, and a different pace. 🎭

The right adults-only Caribbean couples vacation comes down to one thing: knowing your vibe before you book. 💑

Some resorts are made for quiet mornings, slow beach days, and that total disconnect feeling. 🌊 Others are livelier, more social, with better nightlife and a bigger energy overall. 🎉
Neither is wrong. But showing up to the wrong one can make a great trip feel a little off.
That is why I ask a lot of questions before I ever recommend a resort for a couples vacation. The best fit is the one that actually matches how you two like to travel. 🌴

If you’re looking for a luxury resort in Los Cabos that actually delivers — Garza Blanca is it. 🌊

I visited during a site inspection and this one genuinely impressed me. It’s a stunning beachfront all-inclusive along the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo, and the vibes are elevated, relaxed, and refined from the moment you arrive.

A few things that stood out:

🏊 8 pools on property — including a glass-front infinity pool, a kids’ pool, and an adults-only rooftop pool with a bar and unreal ocean views
🏖️ Free beach cabanas included — a huge win
🥘 Dining is a serious step above your typical all-inclusive — three signature restaurants including fine dining, a steakhouse, and Asian fusion
🤵🏼‍♀️ Butler service, a world-class spa, a kids’ club, tennis, beach volleyball, and daily activities rounding out the experience

This is not a waterslide, party-resort kind of place — and that’s exactly what makes it special. It’s perfect for couples, girls’ trips, or families who want a beautiful, peaceful escape without the chaos. This one’s going on my recommend list without hesitation. 🤍

🎢 A Universal vacation for families can be a really fun fit if your crew wants a theme park vacation with more thrill rides and a setup that often feels a little simpler than people expect.
It is still important to think through where to stay, 🏨
how many park days you want,
and what pace works best for your family. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
But for the right family, Universal can be a great pick. 🙌

Site Visit #1 in Cabo: Grand Velas Los Cabos

Grand Velas Los Cabos is one of those resorts that feels polished, elevated, and very intentionally designed. It’s an all-inclusive resort, but definitely not the loud, high-energy, activity-packed style people sometimes picture.

A few quick thoughts:

• **Family-friendly, but in a mature way** — kids are welcome, and it can work really well for families with young children, but this is not a resort centered around constant kids’ activities or nonstop entertainment.

• Best fit: couples, food lovers, and families who want a beautiful resort, great service, calm pools, and a more relaxed luxury feel.

• Not the best fit: families looking for water slides, big character-style entertainment, or a super high-energy kids’ program.

• The food is a major highlight — especially Cocina de Autor, the resort’s Michelin-starred restaurant. Having that level of dining inside an all-inclusive resort is pretty incredible.

Overall, I’d describe Grand Velas Los Cabos as refined, relaxing, and very food-focused. A great fit for travelers who want an all-inclusive experience without sacrificing a luxury resort feel. ✨

The kids club matters. 🧒
The beach setup matters. 🌊
The room setup matters. 🛏️
And dining matters a lot more than people expect when everyone is tired and hungry. 🍽️
Those details are usually what make a family vacation feel easy instead of frustrating. 🌴

🚢 Cruises work so well for a lot of families because so many pieces are already built in.
A family cruise vacation gives you food, 🍽️ entertainment, 🎭 and a lot of built-in structure without needing to plan every meal and activity one by one.
For families who want a lot to do without constantly making decisions all day, that can be a huge win. 🙌
