🌟 Dance Scholarship Opportunity 🌟
I want to share a little story about my daughter and the incredible impact One Step Up Dance Studio has had on her life.
When we moved to Carmi, my daughter started dancing with Mrs. Heather at One Step Up Dance Studio. Within just 6 months, her balance, flexibility, and self-confidence grew tenfold. She also developed a newfound ability to persevere and push through fears.
Here’s an example: For her recital, she needed to do a cartwheel. At the time, she didn’t know how to do one, but she practiced every single day, multiple times a day. By recital time, she executed her cartwheel perfectly.
At first, she was nervous about performing and even told me she didn’t want to be in the recital. But despite her fears, she got up on stage, performed a solo, and broke through her anxiety. She learned a powerful life lesson:
💡 Even though we feel scared or unsure, we can still accomplish things we never thought we could.
This is the kind of growth that builds positive core beliefs and a strong sense of self-worth. Dance has been an incredible tool for her emotional regulation, commitment, and overall development—skills that I know will be another tools to set her up for success in adulthood.
I’ve seen firsthand how Mrs. Heather creates a structured, supportive environment where students are encouraged to learn, grow, and thrive. Her attention to detail, clear expectations, and belief in her students make this tiny gem of a studio in Carmi so special.
