🔧 **Transom Repair Done Right – Built to Last**

Another solid transom repair completed at the marina 💪

When this boat came in, the transom was leaking water, had significant moisture absorption, and structural weakness — a common issue we see from aging sealant, stress cracks, or improperly sealed hardware. A weak transom isn’t just cosmetic — it compromises performance, safety, and the ability to properly support the motor.
🔨 Our Repair Process:

1️⃣ **Full Inspection & Moisture Testing**
We started by removing hardware and performing a full moisture check to determine the extent of the damage.

2️⃣ **Core Removal**
All compromised wood core material was completely removed. We don’t “patch over” rot — we eliminate it entirely.

3️⃣ **Dry-Out & Surface Prep**
The area was thoroughly dried and prepped to ensure proper bonding of new materials.

4️⃣ **Core Replacement**
We installed high-strength marine-grade composite/plywood core (depending on application), bonded with premium marine vinyl ester resin for maximum structural integrity.

5️⃣ **Fiberglass Layup**
Multiple layers of biaxial fiberglass cloth were laminated in using vinyl ester resin to restore and exceed original factory strength.

6️⃣ **Fairing & Finish Work**
After curing, we faired, sanded, and refinished the surface for a clean, professional look.

7️⃣ **Proper Resealing of Hardware**
All penetrations were reinstalled and sealed correctly to prevent future water intrusion.
