I currently have the honor and privilege to know a real Hero. He is a veteran, a retired NYC Police Officer, NYC Firefighter, and a dear friend. He is 1 of the few remaining heroes that risked his own life and health to save those in the Twin Towers right before they fell. With that, his sacrifice costs him dearly with Stage 4 terminal cancer & very hard battle he's endured for several years now. We talk every chance we get, he visits even when he's having a tough time, every treatment he receives a phone call, every laugh I can give, every ounce of encouragement I can muster, and most importantly, letting him know that our country is grateful & honors him. He is far to humble for his sacrifice, and continues to thank God, his Mom, his friends, and his Rottweiler Ava (who he just found out has cancer to). I've always wished God would grant better lives for people like this. He never complains of the agony he goes through, he doesn't bitch about why, and he still wishes he could have saved them ALL. TODAY, he was expected to be present at The Site for an award, recognition, and praise. He can't make it. He is far too weak. Please help me in remembering this day for him, saying a prayer or a thought for all on 9/11, but especially for...
