The new community events calendar at visitcantontx.com/events brings local events together in a single spot, so residents and visitors can see what's going on this weekend and plan months ahead.

Many Canton organizations are already on it, and yours is invited too.

Host one event a year? Go to the calendar and click Add Event.

Host events regularly? Comment below or send us a message. Your events need to be listed on a public page or a calendar on your website, and we'll connect it so everything you post there shows up here automatically.

The calendar is built for events the public can attend, like festivals, concerts, markets, fundraisers, VBS, and trunk or treats. Regular meetings and weekly services generally won't be featured, but when in doubt, reach out.

A couple of weeks ago, the Visit Canton, Texas team attended the Destinations Texas annual conference, and it turned into a good week.

🏆 While we were sitting in the audience, we got word that KLTV 7 had dropped off an award at the office. Canton was named The East Texas Weekend's Weekend Wonders Downtown of the Year for 2026. That one was nominated and voted on by the people of East Texas. Our neighbors and our visitors picked Canton, and that belongs to our downtown businesses and to the Canton Texas Main Street Program.

🏆 Visit Canton, Texas was awarded the state's Digital Innovation award for our budget category, under $500,000. A great accomplishment by itself.

🏆 Not only that, we also won judges' choice for Digital Innovation across every entry in Texas. That one means we were up against cities with multi-million-dollar budgets and full ad agencies behind them. And we won.

🏆 Grace Richardson in our office finished her training while we were there and is now a certified Destination Marketing Specialist. We are so proud of her.

No big budget. Just a small team that knows what Canton is worth. 🏆🏆🏆🏆
