The runway was closed for a couple of hours this morning while GDOT performed photogrammetry surveys of the airport using a Wingtra drone. It was fascinating to watch! This process has historically been done by plane and even line of sight from the ground. Technology has come a long way! All to ensure the safety of arriving and departing aircraft!

NOTICE - Runway 8/26 will be closed on Tuesday March 10, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am EST for GDOT to perform LIDAR surveys utilizing drone technology.

The Franklin Hart Airport was proud to have the Georgia State Patrol use our facility as a staging area during the search for Annie Tisdale today. Thankfully she has been found safe and returned to her family. Serving the community is what it’s all about!
