When you think of odd potato chip flavors, what do you think of? Exotic spice combinations? Flavors to mimic popular dishes?

How about lemonade flavored chips? Well, Utz has already made them, and I decided to try them out. I also had some special guests making their audio appearances.

We had a free New Years Eve, so we decided to venture to a new (to us) restaurant in nearby Springfield, KY. The place is called Big Bull Steakhouse.

We started with the fried pickles. We were so excited that we forgot to get a picture of them. They were thinly sliced pickles that we battered and fried. They were perfectly crispy, and they were served with ranch.

The wee one ordered the county fried chicken with mac and cheese and fries for her sides. She seemed to enjoy everything.

The wifey ordered the 14 oz. ribeye with mac and cheese and asparagus for sides. She said everything was excellent.

I ordered the 16 oz. ribeye (medium rare) with roasted red-skin potatoes and the salad bar. I didn't get pictures of the salad bar fare, but it was excellent. The potatoes were really good. They didn't have a lot of flavor but were tasty. The star of the show was the steak. It was a perfect medium rare. The steak was juicy and not overly seasoned.

We went to Cincinnati for a quick little vacation (I had some time I had to burn). We started the weekend at Baba Indian Restaurant. I ordered the Baba India Special, and it was spectacular.

The next night we went to Teranga African Restaurant, and I ordered the Dibi (roasted lamb). Once again, great choice. The wee one discovered the "whole chicken" meal was in fact a whole chicken. After we finished there, we went to Aglamesis Brothers so the MGs could get some ice cream. I couldn't pass up their mixed milk chocolate box.

Then, before heading home, we stopped into Kpot for some BBQ and hot pot. I ended up doing most of the cooking, but it was worth it.

I found a bag of what I would describe as a veggie-based, pork-rind substitute. They're called "Snacklins". As a pork-rind aficionado, how will they rate?

I'm back with my special guests, Madison Grace and Cole. This time we're trying out Spicy Cajun flavored V8. Is it really spicy? Can the guests handle the heat?

In the backyard with some food truck fare. We went to the Farmer's Market and hit up the food truck "The 5000". I bought a footlong Caribbean Chicken Sub. We got some great subs and even got to sign the back of their food truck.

I'm in the backyard trying out a beverage this time. I found a Mountain Dew Zero Sugar Trolli Cherry Lemon. I figured it was worth a sample.

So good to stop in at Namaste. The wife and I opted for the non-veg meal for two. The starters are meat samosas (chicken) with mint, tamarind, and onion chutneys and papadam. She doesn't care for the papadam, but I shared with the daughter. The entrees are chicken Tikka masala and lamb korma with dal Namaste on the side. It's also served with rice (I love their rice) and naan. It's also served with a dessert, and the wifey chose the mango mousse. They've changed their mousse, and it's not as good. It's frozen and weird.

Everything was great (except the mousse). There was so much food, so we took home leftovers.

The girl ordered her own chicken Tikka masala meal. She loved it and finished it all.

Oh my goodness! I've been seeing these on the shelf at the store and finally bought some. If you're a big fan of Nutella like me, you'll love these 'biscuits'. It's like they took a little bowl shaped cookie, dropped in some Nutella, and then capped it with a smaller cookie.

I had a doctor's appointment in Louisville the other day. I got a decent report, so we decided to grab a bite to eat. We wanted to try something new too. So, we ended up at Yummy Pollo.

The server rotisserie chicken that's cooked with/over charcoal. We ordered a whole chicken to split with two sides (for two). We ordered cilantro lime rice and chickpeas for sides. We also added a couple pieces of bread (pita-ish). It came with a little cup of what I assumed to be chimichurri sauce (the green one) and some sort of mayonnaise type sauce. The white sauce tasted like tartar sauce without the chunkiness.

The chicken was delicious. The white and dark meat were both tasty. It has a nice smokey flavor and was really good dipped in either sauce. Lucky for me, the wifey doesn't like to eat meat off the bone, so I got to pick those clean as well.

We chose the rice and chickpeas because we wanted something we couldn't get in our small hometown. The chickpeas were great, and I really liked the sauce/gravy they were on. The rice was good as well, and it went really well with the chickpeas. The bread was decent, but we could have left it off entirely.

Overall, the place was definitely a hit. There's not much variety other than the sides, but the chicken was good enough for a return visit.

I'm always looking for new (to me) stuff while shopping. A couple weeks ago I saw these Crispy Dumpling Bites by Bibigo. I've had Bibigo food before and thought the flavor was decent. I cooked these per the microwave directions on the bag. Now, most stuff that says "crispy" from the microwave is a straight up lie. These however had a nice crunch to the outside but weren't tough like most things get when nuked. The flavor wasn't mind-blowing, but they were good. The bag says "sweet and spicy sauce included". It was sweet and a little tangy, but it wasn't spicy. Overall, I would buy these again.

Now for my other find. I've had sauerkraut made by Cleveland Kitchen, and it's pretty spectacular. I saw the kimchi and couldn't pass it up. It was so fresh and crunchy straight out of the bag. I'm not even remotely close to being an expert on kimchi, so I'm not going to say anything about authenticity. It seemed like their sauerkraut with some other veggies added, spiced up. I REALLY enjoyed it. So much so that I think I reeked of it for a couple days.
