We are now in the 2026 International Roadcheck week. During this annual 72-hour roadside inspection event, DOT officers are placing increased focus on ELD compliance and cargo securement.

As always, drivers and contractors are expected to complete thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, follow all securement requirements, and maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance throughout the week.

CVSA International Roadcheck Week starts tomorrow, May 12-14!

Inspectors will be targeting:
-ELD tampering or manipulation
-Falsified hours-of-service logs

As well as....
-Duty status logs
-Any inconsistencies in driving time

Cargo Securement with heavy emphasis on...
-Proper tie-downs
-Condition of equipment
-Load balance and distribution
-Preventing shifting or falling cargo
-Poor securement is a major safety risk and a frequent violation category

International Roadcheck Week is coming up May 12–14, with a primary focus on Cargo Securement and ELD compliance.

Now is the time to make sure you are fully prepared before you get to an inspection site. Double-check your load securement, verify all required straps, chains, and tie-downs are in good condition and properly placed, and ensure your ELD is operating correctly and up to date.
