Just a quick heads-up on a small project at a power sub-station adjacent to US Rt.50 North of the CGE Airport. The FAA has provided a determination of "no hazard to air navigation" for a transmission line tower (39' AMSL) located approx. 3,150' North of the approach end of CGE Runway 16. The coordinates are 38-33-07.75N / 72-2-16.95W. Construction could begin at any time. In effect, the tower will not exceed the existing power lines adjacent to Route 50 and the new tower will not be lighted. Please see the attached map for reference.

CGE is now open! Runway 16/34 and the parallel taxiway are clear as are taxiway connectors A and E. Taxiway connectors B, C & D are still covered with ice. However apron areas are still covered with ice except for the terminal apron. We're continuing efforts to clear remaining areas, but it is difficult dealing with ice in temps below freezing, so this may take longer than anticipated. Check NOTAMs for conditions or feel free to call Airport Ops (410) 228-4571 for current updates.

WINTER WEATHER NOTICE: please be advised that a significant winter weather event is forecast for the region the evening of Saturday, January 24, 2026 through the morning of Monday, January 26, 2026. CGE is expected to close via NOTAM beginning Saturday evening as conditions deteriorate. It is difficult to predict exactly how the snow-rain/ice-snow will manifest into real world conditions and how long it will take to clear the surfaces for safe operations. The CGE staff will be working to re-open as quickly as possible, so please check NOTAMs and feel free to call CGE Ops (410) 228-4571 or my cell (443) 521-3158 for updates. Thank you for your patience during this storm and stay safe.
