Chapin Field Airport and the Cambridge Valley Flying Club COME FLY at one of New York's oldest clubs based on a classic American "grass strip". New members welcome. All are welcome.

Chapin Field is a Public Use Airport operated by the Cambridge Valley Flying Club which was organized in April 1963 to promote interest in general aviation, give instruction in flying and maintenance of aircraft, purchase necessary equipment for the use of members, and assist members with upgrading their pilot ratings. Regular meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7 pm in the clu

bhouse on the field. Come along and find out more about membership and learning to fly. You can find us at 177 Plains Road, Cambridge NY 12816 and by FAA Identifier 1B8. The club operates a 1975 Cessna 172M Skyhawk, and a 1946 Aeronca 7BCM Champ "tail dragger". The Champ qualifies as a Light Sport Aircraft (LSA) and does not require an FAA medical certificate to fly.

100LL AVGAS fuel is maintained on the field for members' use only. We are unable to sell to visiting aircraft or the general public. All members and visitors have access to a comfortable club house and operations office with toilet and kitchen facilities. Full club members also have use of a 60 x 60 foot maintenance hangar for aviation projects and over the years several refurbished and experimental-amateur built aircraft have been completed and flown from the field. Tie downs are available and hangars are occasional available to rent or buy.
