We are seeking dependable and organized local Class A truck drivers who thrive working on the road and can consistently ensure safe and accurate deliveries. Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have a clean driving record. Seeking day shift local runs, drop and hook to Savannah, GA and back to Jacksonville, FL. Evening shift local runs to Tampa, Fl and back to Jacksonville, FL. Full Time @ $17.00 hr. Monday through Friday, weekends off, home daily. Overtime after 40 hours. Optional overtime may be available on Saturday.
Duties and Responsibilities
路 Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle
路 Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.
路 Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unit
路 Transport goods, from the place of origin to assigned destination
路 Communicate with dispatch as needed
路 Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
路 Check weather conditions and road reports before departure
路 Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean
路 Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
路 Adhere to company rules and regulations
路 Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions
路 Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
路 Make safety a priority at all times
Class A CDL Driver Requirements
路 High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
路 Valid Class A driver鈥檚 license required
路 1+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving in last 3 years required
路 Clean driving record with no moving violations
路 Must pass a background check and drug test
路 Skilled at driving large vehicles
路 Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailer
路 Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
路 Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
路 An innate sense of direction
路 Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
路 High level of composure and good stress management
