On this Memorial Day, we pause from the pace of our routes and routines to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. Their sacrifice is the quiet foundation beneath the freedoms we rely on every day—the freedom to build businesses, raise families, and chart our own paths across this vast country.
For many in our Western Dairy Transport family, remembrance is personal. Some of you carry the memory of a parent, child, spouse, sibling, or friend who never came home. Others have worn the uniform yourselves and know the meaning of service and loss firsthand. To each of you, please know that your courage and your memories are held with deep respect by all of us.
As a company that helps nourish America, we move through small towns and big cities, past fields and farmsteads, along interstates and two‑lane roads that connect our communities. Along those roads are memorials, flags, and names carved in stone. Let’s allow those reminders to shape how we carry ourselves— with gratitude, humility, and a commitment to one another.
Honoring our fallen means more than a moment of silence. It means living the values they defended:
Duty: showing up for each other, for our customers, and for the communities we serve.
Integrity: doing the right thing, especially when no one is watching.
Service: putting the team and the mission ahead of self.
Courage: choosing the safe, responsible path—even when it takes longer or costs more.
If you’re on the road or on a shift this weekend, thank you for keeping our commitments while many observe the holiday. Please take extra care—drive defensively, watch your rest, and look out for your teammates. Safety is one of the most meaningful ways we can honor those who served: by protecting the lives entrusted to us today.
I also encourage each of us to take a moment—at home, at a local ceremony, or simply in quiet reflection—to remember the fallen and to support the families who bear their loss. A kind word, a check‑in with a colleague, a gesture of respect can mean more than we know.
On behalf of the leadership team, thank you for the pride and purpose you bring to Western Dairy Transport. May we be worthy of the sacrifice we honor today, and may we carry forward their legacy in the way we work, the way we serve, and the way we care for one another.
With gratitude,
David Shelton, President & CEO
