LANE CLOSURES - State Road 2 in LaPorte & St. Joseph Counties

State Road 2 will have alternating lane closures between U.S. 20 and Snowberry Rd on or after Thursday, March 28. This is phase one of a resurfacing project that will be ongoing through early November. Motorists should be prepared for changing traffic patterns and delays during peak times.

ETA - this is just phase one of the project. Resurfacing will be taking place on State Road 2 all the way to Quince Rd in St. Joseph County. Map updated to provide further clarification.

ROAD CLOSURE - U.S. 421 & U.S. 6 in LaPorte County

The intersection of U.S. 421 and U.S. 6 will close on or after Monday, April 1 through late September for a roundabout project. Motorists should seek alternate routes. The official detour will follow State Road 39, U.S. 30, State Road 49 and State Road 2.

A public hearing regarding this intersection improvement project was held in February 2023.

ROAD CLOSURE - U.S. 6 in Marshall County

U.S. 6 will be closed between State Road 106 and Miami Hwy on or after Monday, April 1 through late July for a preventative maintenance bridge deck overlay project. The official detour will follow State Road 106.

LANE CLOSURES - State Road 49 in Porter County

State Road 49 will have alternating lane closures between C.R. 1100 N and Porter Ave on or after Monday, April 1 through late October for a bridge superstructure replacement over Coffee Creek.

During phase one, the inside passing lanes will be closed for work, and the outside driving lanes will be open for traffic. Traffic will switch to the inside passing lanes in phase two around mid-July, with the outside driving lanes closed.
