We recently welcomed the newest cohort of UVM’s Sustainable Innovation MBA program to Rhino for a behind-the-scenes look at our production facilities and a conversation about what social sustainability can look like in practice.

Rooney Castle, our President & CEO, spent time with the group sharing some of the people-centered programs we’ve built over the years, why investing in employees is such an important part of how we do business, and a little of what we’ve learned along the way.

Our entire leadership team, including supervisors, managers, and senior leaders, recently came together for an offsite to dig into our Rhino Experience Survey data.

The feedback and insights from our employees help shape how we lead, where we focus our energy, and the projects and priorities we take on in the year ahead. It was a great opportunity to step away from our day-to-day work, reflect on what we’re hearing, and think together about how we can continue to strengthen the employee experience at Rhino.

This retreat was held at Davis Studio. They provided a creative and energizing space for our team to connect, collaborate, and think big about the year ahead!

Sometimes, a great workplace practice starts by listening to what employees actually need.

Rhino Foods’ Income Advance Program was created in response to employees looking for help with urgent expenses that could get in the way of life and work. Rather than relying on traditional payroll advances, Rhino partnered with NorthCountry Federal Credit Union to create a more consistent solution.

Today, the program gives all Rhino employees same-day access to $1,000 for emergency or unplanned expenses, repaid through weekly payroll deductions. The result has been more than access to funds, as it has helped reduce financial stress, improve credit scores, and increase savings for employees, while also contributing to reduced absenteeism, higher morale, and greater focus at work.

It’s one example of what can happen when employee feedback turns into action and a workplace practice that has grown well beyond its original idea.

Rhino Picnic 2026! One of our favorite days of the year, spent with some of our favorite people. Rhinos and their families came together for an afternoon of sunshine, games, face painting, plenty of ice cream (of course), and all the fun that makes this tradition so special. We love any excuse to get the Rhino family together, and we’re already counting down to next year!

Each year, as part of Rhino Cares, our leadership team spends a day serving lunch at the Boys & Girls Club of Burlington. Rhino has had a long-standing relationship with the Boys & Girls Club, and we’re proud to support the work they do for young people in our community. For us, that relationship is about more than one day of volunteering. It’s about continuing to show up, year after year, for an organization that does so much for our community.

Thanks for having us for another great lunch!
