In memory of René Goiffon (1947–2026)

"I don't like group tours and prefer not to have such a rigid schedule!"

That's what René Goiffon told us in 2014, before wandering off from our Havana Contemporary Music Festival tour to explore the streets on his own. He was the president of the legendary classical music label Harmonia Mundi — and he became one of our dearest friends and collaborators.

A few years later, that same man who hated group tours co-created our Iceland tours with us, pouring the same passion and artistry into those itineraries that earned him Grammy Awards throughout his career. His gift was bringing people together — across cultures, across oceans, across a dinner table in Reykjavik.

René passed away in April, and we miss him deeply. Our hearts are with his family and the many friends he made around the world.
