Send this to a friend that needs to learn to drop the rope!

Typically it takes a first time surfer about 15-40 minutes to learn to surf without the rope during a lesson/charter with us!

If you’re unable to come out and ride with us, here are some tips for dropping the rope:

1. Move your front foot closer to the toe side rail of the board. With weight focused on the front foot and pressure on the toes

2. Line your board up with the wave by pointing the nose of the board towards the back of the boat.

3. Shift your front hip towards the back of the boat like you are doing a side lunge.

4. Find the right amount of pressure on the gas (front foot) that you are no longer moving forward on the wave or backwards.

5. As the rope goes slack, you are officially surfing!

6. Throw the rope and stay on the gas!

Remember, putting weight on the front foot is your gas pedal. This moves you forward on the wave. Weight on the back foot is your brake, moving you back on the wave.
