What's your wellness anchor? 🌿
I clipped this picture from a magazine many years ago. I don't remember which one, so apologies for not giving credit!
It's been sitting on my desk or hanging on a bulletin board ever since.
Why? Because it's a reminder that moving my body is one of the best forms of medicine for me.
I run, cycle, lift weights, walk, hike, kayak, practice yoga, and more. Not because I have to, but because it feels good!
I feel stronger, physically and mentally.
I have more energy, I'm in a better mood, and I can focus more easily.
And when I don't move? I notice it. BIG TIME.
One thing I talk about often with clients is finding a wellness anchor.
Something that helps you feel good and that you can return to when life gets busy, plans change, or your usual routine just isn't happening.
It's not about falling off track and starting over.
It's about asking yourself, "How can I show up for myself today?"
For me, being active and spending time outdoors have been my anchors for as long as I can remember. From climbing trees as a little girl to enjoying workouts and outdoor adventures today.
My sneakers are always by the side door, ready for whatever movement I'm up for.
Some days it's a workout.
Other days it's simply a walk outside.
Both count. ❤️
What about you? What's something you return to that helps you feel your best?
