URGENT NOTICE: TH 25 (Central Ave) Railroad Crossing Closure

The City of Buffalo was notified late today, Friday, May 1, that CP Railroad will be closing TH 25 (Central Ave) in both directions at the railroad crossing beginning Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8. This closure is necessary to allow CP Railroad to complete unplanned track maintenance.

Detour routes will be posted that will utilize 5th St NE and TH 55. We will add the detour map to this post as soon as MnDOT has an official release but wanted to get this information out to the public as soon as possible.

We understand this is very short notice and will have an impact on traffic within the community. The City of Buffalo has no control over this closure and is sharing this information as soon as we got the official word that the tracks will be closed on Monday. All work, notifications, and detour signage are being handled by CP Railroad.

We appreciate your patience and will continue to provide updates if more information becomes available.

The Minnesota Stop Arm Law was updated this spring - drivers must stop at least 20 feet from a bus with red flashing lights, whether the stop arm is fully extended or not.

Remember, if you see a bus with...

𝐘𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - Start slowing down, the bus is preparing to stop.

𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - Come to a COMPLETE stop, and STAY stopped at least 20 feet from the bus, until the red lights turn off and the bus begins to move.
