Jorgensen Awards Three Scholarships

For the first time in its 20-year history, the Roy E. Jorgensen Memorial Scholarship was awarded to three students due to the strength of this year’s candidate pool. Sophie Dixon is pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on transportation engineering at California State Polytechnic. Peter Otoshi is pursuing a double major in Civil Engineering and Engineering Physics at California State Polytechnic and has just obtained his EIT. Daniel Cochran is a Brown Scholar pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Engineering at Texas A&M and is a second-time scholarship awardee.

Nashville PBMC Reaches Two-Year Milestone

Jorgensen is marking the second-year anniversary of its Nashville-area interstates contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT). This was one of the first performance-based maintenance contracts (PBMCs) issued by TDOT, covering the Region 3 North interstate system, including the Nashville metropolitan area. The contract represented an important milestone in the state’s early efforts to introduce outsourced, performance-driven maintenance on some of its most heavily traveled and operationally complex corridors.

JORGENSEN TO PARTNER WITH FDOT DISTRICT 6 FOR VITAL ASSET MAINTENANCE PROJECT

Jorgensen is expanding its Florida footprint with a 5-year performance-based asset maintenance contract for Miami’s interstates. The firm was awarded this highly technical contract by the Florida Department of Transportation with a start date of August 2026.

This much-sought-after project area includes heavily traveled roadways in the greater Miami area, including I-95, I-75, Palmetto Expressway, and Julia Tuttle Causeway. The contract includes the Golden Glades Interchange, a confluence of six major highways that serve as one of South Florida’s busiest transportation hubs with an average daily traffic volume of 400,000 vehicles.
