Today, we celebrate the anniversary of the openings of both Magic Kingdom 🏰 (55 years, opening Oct. 1, 1971) & EPCOT 🌐 (44 years, opening Oct. 1, 1982) at Walt Disney World!!🥳

Andy was blessed to get to visit both of these parks when they were just newly opened, being that his family regualrly went to Florida to visit his grandparents when he was growing up. His first trip to WDW was in January of 1972, shorly after he had turned 3.
The first picture is of him on the carousel with his dad that we took from an old home video from that trip. The second pic shows him with his family, wearing the Donald Duck hat he just HAD to have (fun fact - Donald is still his favorite Disney character to this day!)

The rest of the pictures are from their trip in December of 1982, shortly after EPCOT had opened.
I couldn't resist adding a current photo of him in the red raglan sleeve Mickey t-shirt I got for him that's just like the one he had as a kid!😊

Needless to say, he grew up loving Disney & making lots of memories there. While I only got to visit once growing up (as a young teen), I still shared that same love for Disney. We have gone to the parks numerous times together over the years (I've lost count how many) & have made lots of memories there with our boys, too!

Now we get to use that love & knowledge we have of the Disney parks to help our clients plan the most magical Disney vacations!😀

🍷 The annual EPCOT International Food & W**e Festival will start a month from today, running from August 27th - November 21st!

This festival features several global marketplaces that will offer delicious food & drinks from various countries around the globe! 🌎

Other festival activities include:

🧀 Emile's Fromage Montage - guests get their festival passport stamped when they purchase each eligible dish, then redeem their completer prize once finished.

🐀 Remy's Hide & Squeak Scavenger Hunt - find Remy collecting ingredients throughout the park pavilions. Place corresponding stickers on the purchased map, and collect the prize once it's complete.

🎶 Eat to the Beat Concert Series - concerts will be held at the America Gardens Theatre in the American Adventure pavilion (the concerts are included with your park admission). See comments for the list of performers.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is returning to Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on select nights from Aug. 7th - Oct. 31st!🎃👻

This separately ticketed event runs from 7pm - midnight. However, guests can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4pm with their party ticket!

Some of the highlights of the party include:

🍫 Trick-or-treating at candy stations set up throughout the park! Guests can also dress up if they'd like to!

🎃 Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade!

🤠 Jessie's Roundup: A Rip-Roarin' Revue featuring Jessie, Woody, & Bullseye will take place at the Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom for a limited time (only for Cool Kids's Summer)!

🏨 Summer activities, including scheduled appearances by Disney characters, will take place at select Disney Resort Hotels (Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, & Port Orleans - Riverside)!

Packages for Nov. & Dec. 2027 will open later this fall.

When you add a dining plan to your 2027 package, you can save up to 20% on dining for kids ages 3-9! (*Free dining is still available for select 2026 packages!)

Disney will also be updating the dining plan options for vacations in 2027. There will be 3 options:
