Hello Brunswick Landing Community,
As you are aware, Hurricane Lee is headed in our direction and I’m sure many of you are preparing to minimize any damage that might result from high winds and rain. Here on the Landing, we are doing the same. I wanted to share some information that might be helpful as we head into the weekend.
First, FEMA has reached out to ask to use the airport apron space in front of Hangar 6 as a Federal Staging Area (FSA) and a Generator Staging Area (GSA) in preparation for any widespread power outages and other results that may occur due to the storm. They will be bringing in generators, trucks, and other equipment over the next two days and we wanted to make you aware of this in case you saw activity over there and were wondering what was happening. Once the storm has passed, and outages are under control, they will be removing their equipment from that area.
The second item is about notification regarding power outages. If there is a power outage on the Landing campus, MRRA will post the outage on our website and note the circuit that is out along with a circuit map and any estimations on power restoration times. We will also have information and updates about the outage recorded on our Utilities voice mailbox. To reach this mailbox, please call our main number at 207-798-6512 and choose the Utilities mailbox, Ext. 219. We have crews ready to be on site and make repairs if there is a power outage.
We are hoping that we have over prepared, and the actual outcome will be that the storm will move further out to sea making the effects here in Brunswick minimal.
Be safe and smart this weekend.
