The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is pleased to share a new MARC pilot that will provide a direct weekday round-trip connection between communities along the Brunswick Line in Montgomery County and the Camden Line corridor to Baltimore.
The new service, planned to begin on September 28, will allow riders to travel directly between Brunswick Line stations and Baltimore’s Camden Station without transferring at Washington Union Station. The service will connect Brunswick, Point of Rocks, Barnesville, Metropolitan Grove, Gaithersburg, Rockville, Kensington, Silver Spring, College Park, Laurel, and Baltimore, providing a new direct transit connection between Montgomery County and Baltimore and expanding regional travel opportunities for MARC riders.
This service is being implemented by adjusting a current Brunswick-Washington round trip, a one-way Washington-Camden Station trip, and converting an existing non-revenue Camden Line train movement into passenger service, allowing MTA to provide this new connection without additional annual operating costs.
