Effective late 2025 (likely Oct 1, FY 26), most nonimmigrant visas (including B‑1/B‑2, F‑1 student, H‑1B work, J‑1 exchange, H‑4, F‑2, J‑2 dependents, L‑1, etc.) will carry a new $250 Visa Integrity Fee .

🌍 Who Pays & Who’s Exempt
• Paying: Any applicant requiring a physical visa stamp from the U.S. consulate
• Exempt:
• Visitors under the Visa Waiver Program (42 countries, including UK, Germany, Japan)
• Canadians (visitors) and Bermudians who do not require a visa  
• Diplomatic A & G visas are also not subject to this fee

📉 Fee Is Non‑Waivable—but Refunded upon Compliance
• The fee can’t be waived or reduced, and is charged on top of standard visa fees (MRV fee, reciprocity fees, etc.) 
• Refundable if you:
• Obey all visa rules
• Leave the U.S. promptly after your stay ends (or properly extend/change your status)  
• Note: The reimbursement process is expected to be slow, so treat it as non‑refundable in planning

Introduced under the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” signed July 4, 2025, this fee is intended to:

• Fund U.S. immigration and border security efforts
