The Airport Board provides recommendations to Airport staff, City Manager and City Council on matters related to airport operations, capital improvements, and overall care for the Brookings Regional Airport. Board members serve five-year terms, and residency is required for a majority of the board members.

The City of Brookings is seeking applications for a vacancy on the Airport Board. Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, April 14.

The Airport Board provides recommendations to Airport staff, City Manager and City Council on matters related to airport operations, capital improvements, and overall care for the Brookings Regional Airport. Congrats!!! Walker has been working for airport on a part time basis this summer and has been a tremendous addition keeping the airport in great shape for our pilots and passengers to enjoy.

Congrats to Walker Risa on passing his CFII! Walker has successfully completed all of his training at SDSU! Good luck on all of your future endeavors!

RAID 22 will be POSTPONED until further notice due to aircraft mechanical issues. We are hopeful this event will be scheduled at a later date.

Next Tuesday, May 10th, at 10:45am, RAID 22 will be visiting the Brookings Regional Airport. We are fortunate enough to have a T-6 Texan based on the field and will be displayed alongside the B-25. RAID 22 will be open to the public from 10:30am-12:15pm, so grab a friend and learn about the famous Doolittle Raid of 1942.

Thanks to the 2022 top Hawk program, SDSU is now one of just 5 aviation programs to have a new custom-branded Skyhawk aircraft sitting in their hangar.

We had our busiest day on record yesterday (4/21) with 399 operations (takeoff/landings). We started using Virtower in November of last year to capture daily operations.

Brookings, SD, will get to experience a visit from a B-25. The exact dates and times are to be determined, but we will update you once we receive more information. This will be open to the public and is a great chance to learn some aviation history.
