Today’s adventure took us to Turkey Run State Park for a 4 hour hike. Let’s just say we are out of shape and we couldn’t wait to get back to the Inn to sit in front of the fireplace. $7 gate fee for in state plates. Sitting in front of the fireplace priceless. We found a large woodpecker on trail 2 and had to stop and watch him for a while.

Did you know you don’t have to go to Parke County to see covered bridges? There are 3 covered bridges right off 63. (The road is Newton County folks use to go to Terre Haute and Evansville)
Eugene (cross at a walk), Newport (single lane/no semis), and Dana (cross at a walk) each have a covered bridge a short distance from the highway. All three can be traveled to in 20 minutes .
Yesterday we stopped to see the Newport bridge for the first time. Video in the comments.

A fun couple of days wondering to Michigan City, New Buffalo and Union Pier areas. We enjoyed our stay at the Lakeside Inn. We shopped the shops, ate the food, visited the beaches, went to the casino and the wineries. We packed it all into a 24 hour visit!

Food, drinks, and unlimited games. I got my fix playing pinball games. I am sure we need this 4 player PacMac game in our house!

We ventured to Boston aboard the Amtrak. We saw citities, small towns, forest, mountains, and rivers. A bonus was the train ran parallel to the Boston Marathon route for a few miles so we got to see the runners, lots of runners!

We spent most of our time in the Postmouth NH/Kittery Maine area for the 61st memorial of the Thresher. Scotts dad and a total of 129 men were aboard the submarine and lost their lives. We were fortunate to see so many old friends and make new ones. It’s a special connection coming together for such an emotional event. ❤️

We enjoyed a lot of great meals, a lot of walking, and some sightseeing. Food pictures included for my hungry friends. Bridges included for Mary K. 😉

We got to our destination a few minutes early and had a chance to check this place out. Bourbon lovers this is for you!

We landed In Evansville for our most recent outing. If you haven’t been check out their river walk along the Ohio River. We also enjoyed our visit to Mesker Park, Zoo and Botanical Gardens. As with many towns not everything is open on Monday but we still had fun.
