The turnout was decent for our run on Saturday, October 17th. We started off with two electric locomotives running, but ended up having to shut down “Big Blue” due to an electronics failure. FYI...there are few things harder to “push” than a broken down locomotive when the wheels are locked up. Later on, Alan had the steam engine up and running, and it was smooth sailing from that point forward. We enjoyed pretty nice weather, even though the gusty winds kept us from enjoying a campfire, and once or twice we dodged misting rain. Thankfully we had plenty of Brandy Old Fashioned’s.

Welcome to the first official post for the High Oaks Railroad in Kansasvile, Wisconsin. High Oaks is a private facility for electric and steam powered locomotives that features over 2,300 feet of 7-1/2” gauge track under massive oak trees.
