Originally aired in 1955 (season 6, episode 4) of the Jack Benny Program. Jack Benny (born Benjamin Kubelsky in 1894) was a contemporary of the Marx Brothers, at one point accompanying their vaudeville stage show with violin in the orchestra pit.

Some of the Boomers I know who are thinking of moving south say they will actually miss the snow. They love to ski. Surprisingly it seems there are plenty of places to ski down south: http://gosoutheast.about.com/od/mountainswaterfalls/ss/skiing_se.htm For me it's all about the beach.

Skiing and more recently snowboarding and snow tubing have become increasingly popular since the 1960's in the Southeastern United States. Find out where to enjoy these popular winter sports and activities in North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee

It's weather like this that makes everyone think of being a "boomer moving south". Might take a road trip to Myrtle Beach. Any other good suggestions for Northeners to go to get warm?

Visited my daughter who lives in Virginia. They live in his newer 4br colonial that goes for 200k, taxes around 2k. Here that house is over 500k, taxes over 10k. Only about an hour out of DC so very much like here, country but commuteable to a major city. Guess you don't have to be a boomer to see the benifits of moving south these days. (I did discover they believe the civil war is not over, just a truce).

I have no problem with Lassie, but I just cannot accept that the rest of these shows are over 40 years old too. Which ones did you watch? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5BYpcOy67R0

Go back in time and visit some of the best television shows from the 1960s. How many of these did you watch on a regular basis? All these shows started their run in the 60s. Music is MacArthur Park sung by Richard Harris. Enjoy!
