Hey neighbors, I have an update on my last post about the Middle East shipping suspensions: The US Postal Service (USPS) has suspended ALL mailing services (letters, packages, everything) to several APO/FPO/DPO military ZIP codes in the region. This kicked in due to the same logistics challenges from the ongoing conflict that's affecting regular international mail.
This is a separate but related pause – it hits military post offices directly, even though country-level suspensions sometimes spare diplomatic/military channels. Here's a list of many of the affected ZIP codes (not exhaustive – things can change, so double-check the official USPS alerts):
• 09303 (e.g., Manama BAO, Bahrain area), 09305 (e.g., BDSC MPO), 09306 (e.g., Camp Arifjan), 09307 (e.g., Muharraq MCA), 09309 (e.g., Al Udeid AB, Qatar), 09315 (e.g., Joint Training Center), 09316 (e.g., Erbil AB), 09330, 09343, 09357, 09365, 09366, 09801, 09803, 09807, 09811, 09815, 09819, 09829, 09832, 09835, 09853, 09855, 09858, 09877, 09898, 09903, 09904
(These tie to key bases in Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Iraq, and similar spots.)
FedEx, UPS, and DHL are still showing delays or limits in the area, but nothing new blanket-style for military addresses beyond this.
I get it – if you're prepping a care package for someone serving or just trying to send a letter to let them know you're thinking of them, this news can feel heavy. No one wants to add uncertainty on top of everything else.
What's weighing on your mind right now? Got a loved one's address you're worried about? Planning to send something soon? Or just need reassurance? Drop a comment, shoot us a message, call/text us at 360-434-7421 or pop in – we’re genuinely here to listen and help figure out the next best step. No pressure, just real support.
Bremerton, we've got this together. Stay strong and keep reaching out.

Hey neighbors, it seems like the ongoing situation in the Middle East is throwing a wrench into everyone's shipping plans – and I know how frustrating that can be when you're trying to connect with loved ones or handle business overseas.

We've seen official notices from the US Post Office (USPS) temporarily suspending mail services to several countries in the region, including Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and others.

FedEx has resumed operations but is warning of extended delays across the Middle East.

UPS and DHL are also reporting potential disruptions and longer transit times, though no full suspensions for all services.

At Pak Mail in Bremerton, we get it – these changes can feel overwhelming. That's why we're here as your local shipping experts to help you explore alternatives, check specific destinations, or even hold off on shipments until things stabilize.

What shipping needs do you have right now? Drop a comment below, call or text us at 360-434-7421, or stop by the store – let's figure this out together and make sure your packages get where they need to go safely.

Stay informed and stay connected!

Hey Pak Mail Bremerton friends!

It seems like shipping rules can feel frustrating and ever-changing, especially when a package gets bounced back unexpectedly. We recently had one returned due to USPS's security guidelines (specifically the Aviation Security Program -- also known as the Anonymous Mail Program). While this program has been in place for some time, it hasn’t really been enforced until now. If your package:
-Is over 10 oz
-Thicker than 1/2 inch
-Or requires customs forms

And has stamps on it (instead of a shipping label), you MUST hand it directly to someone at the Post Office counter for verification. You can no longer have it stamped and dropped off to us.

To keep things smooth and compliant for everyone, we're updating our store policy. Starting immediately, for any USPS shipment that hits these thresholds (over 10 oz, thicker than ½ inch, or requires customs), we'll switch to secure options that generate a shipping label. No more stamp-only drops – this way, your packages sail through without hiccups. Whether it's international or extra bulky, we'll guide you on the spot!

How can we make this even easier for you? Drop a comment below – we're all ears.

That moment you need something shipped “overnight” … and the quote hits $300+.

It seems like the pressure is real when the deadline feels unbreakable.

We tend to ask, “How important is it that this gets there tomorrow morning versus sometime tomorrow or the next day or two?”

When we can price shop for you and discuss delivery times, most people realize 2-Day or other shipping gets it there reliably—guaranteed—at a fraction of overnight cost.

But when it’s truly critical (meds, frozen food, parts), we skip the post office’s vague “2–4 day” window (One customer waited 9 days on a “2–4 day” promise. Not okay.) and look for the fastest delivery.

At Pak Mail Bremerton, we’ll help you find the smartest value—no pressure, just better options.

Warning to All Online Shoppers: Don't Get Tricked into Paying Extra Shipping Costs!

It seems like you're frustrated with unexpected return hassles—I've been there too, feeling that sting when a "simple" return turns into a money pit. But what if I told you these companies have fine print designed to shift the shipping burden right back to you? Take Amazon's own words: "Not all Global Store products are eligible for a prepaid return. In this case, you will need to return the item at your own expense. We recommend you return the item(s) using a trackable method at the carrier of your choice." Sounds helpful, right? But it often means you're on the hook for costs they could've covered. And TEMU? They say: "If the return code/label provided by us and the seller does not support your return item(s), including but not limited to any sensitive, oversized or overweight item(s), you may return such item(s) using any other logistics provider other than the one we or seller designated." Again, it pushes you to pay up with your own carrier. How fair is it that to return a faulty product means YOU have to pay the return shipping?! IMO, that is absolutely unfair.

The real kicker? We're seeing more "fake" labels that look legit but aren't. For example, a customer brought in what appeared to be a USPS label—complete with barcode and tracking number. It wouldn't scan no matter what we tried, even manually entering the number. Total dud. Another one was entirely in Chinese, passed off as an overseas shipper, but it turned out to be from a local delivery company in China. These tricks are popping up more often, leaving folks stuck with invalid returns and extra fees.

It sounds unfair, doesn't it? Like these giants are counting on us not reading the details. Bottom line, we're seeing more weird return labels at Pak Mail Bremerton. Stay smart out there!
