The seaplane world truly lost an icon.

Wip spent a lifetime proving that just about any airplane is better with a couple of floats underneath it.

But his real legacy is much bigger than airplanes. Wip was humble, generous, full of life, and always had a story to tell, usually a good one and occasionally one that probably shouldn’t be repeated.

He built an incredible company, helped shape an entire corner of aviation, and made a whole lot of friends along the way.

Our thoughts are with the Wiplinger family and everyone at Wipaire.

Thanks for everything, Wip. You made aviation a hell of a lot more fun.

May the skys be blue , the winds at your back and the docks have plenty of room wherever you land next.
