Today, we remember the Soldiers who fought in the Battle of Mogadishu on October 3-4, 1993, and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

The annual Remembrance Run is more than retracing a route. It is a tribute to the courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood of those who were there, and a reminder that their stories continue to be carried forward.

Ranger Recon Friday: Did You Know? 🇺🇸

On October 3, 1993, U.S. Army Rangers and other Special Operations Forces deployed into Mogadishu, Somalia, for a mission that would become one of the most well-known battles in modern Ranger history.

The fighting unfolded across the streets of Mogadishu over the course of hours, with Soldiers moving through a complex and dangerous urban environment.

Today, the route taken by those Soldiers is retraced during the annual Remembrance Run, honoring those who fought that night and remembering those who never made it home.

Some routes are worth remembering. 🇺🇸
