Join Allston-Brighton Health Collaborative Intro-to-Bluebikes Group Ride this weekend.

Intro-to-Bluebikes Group Ride series is kicking off year two this month! Last year, through these group rides, we helped dozens of Allston-Brighton residents start using Bluebikes safely and confidently, increasing access to the City’s healthiest and most fun public transportation option. This year, you can start using Bluebikes too.

When: Sunday, May 31 at 11 AM–12:30 PM
Where: Bluebikes Station at Herter Park, Allston, MA 02134

In partnership with the City of Boston and Bluebikes, ABHC will be hosting a 3.5-mile Bluebikes-only community bike ride on Sunday, May 31 at 11 AM. We’ll show you how to use a Bluebike, then we’ll venture out into the neighborhood, riding along a beginner-friendly route. The route will start and end at the Herter Park Bluebikes station. Free Bluebikes coupons and pizza will be provided, as well as free bike helmets (to keep!) upon request.

Last week, T4MA and GBH Forum Network held The Money Train: Taking Stock of Transportation. Since voters passed the Fair Share Amendment in 2022, dedicated revenue has been flowing into our Commonwealth’s transportation and education systems, but how much of a difference are we seeing on the ground?

We brought together a panel of experts to examine the impact of these funds and what the future holds for Massachusetts transit:

Jeremy Siegel (Moderator), GBH News Transportation Correspondent

Brian Kane, Executive Director of the MBTA Advisory Board

Viviana M. Abreu-Hernandez, Ph.D., President of the Massachusetts Budget and Policy Center

State Representative Lindsay Sabadosa, Member of the Joint Committee on Transportation

From MBTA improvements to regional equity, we’re digging into the data to ensure the public's investment is moving us in the right direction.

Equipping the next generation of transit leaders. 🚦

The 2026 Champions Institute kicked off last week in Worcester, MA, bringing together a dedicated cohort ready to transform our infrastructure.

The day focused on the intersection of policy and reality. Heidi Smith (Transportation for America) provided a masterclass on Complete Streets frameworks, while Brendan Kearney (WalkMassachusetts) prepared the group for field work with a comprehensive Walk-Audit 101 training.

Putting theory into practice, the cohort conducted a guided walk-audit of downtown Worcester. Analyzing high-traffic corridors firsthand allowed these leaders to diagnose safety gaps and discuss scalable solutions for the Commonwealth.

A huge thank you to our partners at Smart Growth America and WalkMassachusetts for making the launch such a success.
