Speaking of hidden gems: did you know that Hammond Castle Museum on the North Shore was home to the inventor and eccentric visionary John Hays Hammond Jr., who was rumored to have been gay during a time it was anything but easy? A man who built a literal medieval castle on the ocean and filled it with art, history, and wonder. Updated research from the museum points to him having relationships with both women and men; but whether he would have identified as q***r or not, it's clear that he lived life boldly and unapologetically, and we think that's worth celebrating. 🏳‍🌈

And a reminder before the long weekend wraps up, for everyone who adventured with us the past two days: your Commuter Rail Weekend Pass is valid through today! That means you still have time to hop on the Commuter Rail to explore a neighborhood you've never been to, grab a bite to eat somewhere new, or experience a day trip of your own using the Commuter Rail!
