Weigand joined the Seaboard Transport Group of Companies and has continued to grow and excel. Weigand Inc. has been dedicated to providing safe, reliable, and professional service for over 80 years. When Adam J. Weigand began the company in Dover, Ohio, he had nothing more than one small dump truck to haul bulk materials and coal in and around Tuscarawas County. The opportunity was clear; build a
business by offering superior services to customers, one load at a time. By 1945 the company was incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio and obtained I.C.C authority and P.U.C.O authority for transporting building materials, liquid chemicals, and general freight. The evolution of A.J. Weigand would see them grow and diversify exponentially over the next 50 years. The business was owned and operated by the Boynton Family from the 1960's to 2006 when AJ Weigand joined the Seaboard Transport Group. In 2012 the Seaboard Transport Group introduced the Harmac North America Brand which includes our AJ Weigand operations as well as the Harmac Logistics Division to their operating groups. Today, A.J. Weigand specializes in liquid chemical transportation and includes among its customers many of the largest chemical companies in the United States and Canada.
