Where Are Those Wieners?

Where Are Those Wieners? Just a couple of Wieners loose on the highways of North America.
3 years on the road, collecting stories, laughs, and questionable GPS directions.

Buckle up — it’s gonna be a wiener of a ride! 🌭🗺️

How badly did we want to play pickleball?

Apparently badly enough to bring THREE leaf blowers to the courts. 😂🏓

And one of them looked like somebody had crossed a leaf blower with a Ghostbusters backpack.

Did we look ridiculous?

Absolutely.

Did we dry the courts?

Yep.

Did we play?

YOU BET WE DID. 😂

So tell me… dedicated or slightly unhinged? 😂👇

Apparently this is my “I just donated platelets” face. 😂❤️

Since today is International Day of Charity, it seems like a good time to remind everyone that giving back doesn't always mean giving money.

Ben and I regularly donate blood and platelets. It costs us a little time, apparently costs me my ability to make a normal face 😂, and hopefully helps somebody who really needs it.

There are SO many ways to give — your time, your blood, your talents, helping a neighbor, volunteering, supporting a cause you care about.

What's one way you like to give back? ❤️

Two people, two backpacks and one VERY big hole in the ground. 😂

One thing you should know about traveling with me: I may travel light, but I was a Girl Scout. I come prepared. 😂

Ben has learned that when he asks, “Do you happen to have a…?” there's a pretty good chance the answer is YES.

Grand Canyon was one of those places that makes you stop and think, pictures really don't do this justice.

What's one place you've visited that absolutely lived up to the hype? 👇

🧔 Apparently it's National Beard Day!

So let's settle something important. 😂

What beard style gets your vote?

A — Full beard
B — Goatee
C — Van D**e
D — Clean-shaven

And then there's Ben… 😂 What are we officially calling HIS?

Guys — bonus points if you drop a beard selfie in the comments. 📸👇
Ladies — feel free to cast a vote for the man in your life too. 😂

Let's see some beards!

Apparently it’s National Dog Day… and I don’t even have a dog. 😂🐶

So I’m borrowing yours today.

Drop a picture of your dog in the comments and tell me their name!

I want to see ALL the dogs. ❤️

Bonus points if they have a ridiculous nickname. 😂

Ketchikan gave us a little bit of EVERYTHING yesterday. 😂🌧️🐟🪓

While Ben went fishing, I explored Ketchikan on the Duck Tour, walked over to watch the salmon run, and caught the Lumberjack Show.

The salmon run was one of my favorite parts of the day. It’s right there in the heart of town, easy to get to, and I could have stood there watching forever.

It was incredible seeing so many salmon making their way upstream… and also a little sad seeing the ones that had already completed their journey.

And Ben had a pretty great day too — he caught a halibut that the chef onboard is grilling for us for dinner tonight. 🎣🐟🔥

And did I mention it rained basically ALL DAY? 😂🌧️

But honestly, that didn’t ruin a thing.

One of the things I’m loving about Alaska is that even the simple, easy-to-do things can end up being the most memorable.

If you had one day in Ketchikan, what would you choose?

Cruise strategy: eat the good stuff… then walk it off. 😂🚢

We take the stairs, walk laps around the ship, and somehow keep ending up with 10,000+ step days.

On this ship, about 2½ laps = 1 mile.

Which is good, because apparently Ben and I are taking the phrase “all you can eat” as a personal challenge. 😂

Team Stairs or Team Elevator?

One of the best things about visiting a place for the SECOND time? You don’t feel like you have to do everything. ❤️

The last time Ben and I were in Skagway, we did the White Pass Railroad into the Yukon — and loved it! 🚂🏔️

This time, we wanted to experience Skagway differently.

We wandered through several of the National Park Service museums and historic sites, visited the Gold Rush Cemetery, walked up to Lower Reid Falls and, of course, when two Wieners stumbled across the Skagway We**ie Wagon… we HAD to stop. 😂🌭

Our museums and historic sites were free, and our round-trip transportation out to the cemetery was only $10 per person.

Completely different Skagway days.

And honestly? We loved BOTH.

That’s one of my favorite things about returning somewhere you’ve already visited — there’s always another way to experience it. ❤️

When you return to a destination, do you REPEAT your favorites or TRY SOMETHING NEW?

Well, apparently the Wieners have been assigned a new travel mission. 😂🍗

Our daughter and son-in-law’s business, CD’s Wings in Colorado, was just named one of the 8 best wing joints in the U.S.! 🇺🇸🔥

Pretty darn cool — and yes, we are VERY proud. ❤️

But then we noticed something else on the list…

Crispy G*i in Portland, Maine.

And since Ben and I are in Maine, it feels irresponsible NOT to investigate. 😂

So I guess a Portland wing stop is officially on the agenda.

If your travels take you through Colorado, put CD’s Wings on your food-stop list.

And now I need to know…

Flats or drums? 👇
Choose carefully. 😂
