The morning was cloudy and leaved by lago Apańas before getting tracks in coffee field again to reach Peñas Blanca some cliffs formations but always in a cloudy weather, after that when arrived in El Cuá, the sun show up to continued to Wiwilí de Nueva Segovia and finished the day in Quialí a some village on top of a hills surrounded by more coffee plantation!

Step 247 Matagalpa - Jinotega 🇳🇮 85km

Leaving the coffee trading capital of Nicaragua for San Ramon and his tracks for the rest of the day in middle of thousands of coffee tree which grow in this montainous region. Those tracks was a little wet but I enjoyed it so much, beautiful rural landscapes and crossing kind communities!
I've rushed a bit to arrived in Jinotega before the rain and to fix a slow puncture that I've had for days..

Step 246 Esteli - Matagalpa 🇳🇮 100km

I've been to visit a cigar factory in Esteli with a private visit of Chimura a very kind biker.
After that I took a track going into hills but at a point there was a river to cross but definitely the current was way too strong and I cannot found another track to go on the other side so I was forced to get the Panamericana Nte in La Trinidad to finish on road passing by rice fields and coffee drying factory, with an intense smell of coffee beans!
Finally I arrived in the small town of Matagalpa nestled between montains.

Leaved the beautiful Leon by ruta 3 to go up to Volcan Telica a major part with the bike and finish the last path walking up to the active crater.
Then get a volcanic rocky/dusty track contouring it to El Limon and continued to El Sauce by a large dirt road. To finished the day I've reached Esteli with the 49 a nice curvy montainous road..

From Miramar sea side I've been back inland, first Leon viejo, on the banks of Xolotlan lake, my plan was to made round of Momotombo volcano, but was impossible durée to private property, so I diverted to Malpasillo to get a black volcanic track who bring me to Volcan Cerro Negro before arriving in Leon a very well conservated colonial town, 2nd biggest of Nicaragua, I've visit like usual market and local interest..

Leaved the capital to make a bucle of Reserva Natural Península de Chiltepe where there's nice view of lake Xolotlan and Momotombo volcano, before arriving in Mateare where I get a track to Ojo de Agua before a gravel road to El transito a surf resort on Pacific coast and finally reach Miramar to stay and meet Adrianno a character chef/biker who opened a hostal and cook delicious italian food in this little village!

Took the ferry back to main land, with a cloudy sky and few ways on the lake! Once in San Jorge port of Omotepe ferry, I hited for a little the road 1 Panamericana direction south and Costa Rica.
Followed then the track going to San Jeronimo, but the plan became a detour as at a point the track became a single impossible to pass with a dual loaded bike! So been back on my feet for ~40kms and took the road to San Juan del Sur a nice little bay with fisherman. And nice beaches around!

Leaving Granada to make the round of Laguna de Apoyo, a crater lake with an interesting track to the view point of El Boquete, followed by few kms on road to get a track passing into Reserva Natural Lagunetas de Mecatepe, nice view of Volcano Monbacho before getting the Panamericana until Rivas to get the ferry to Omotepe Island on the lake Cocibolca and spend the night in Moyogalpa..

Last kms in Costa Rica on track before reaching the road going to Las Tablillas to cross the border of Nicaragua, it was straight forward to leave Costa Rica but a way longer to enter. Custom verified many things of my trip and even asked me to removed all lugages to be scaned! The first time in the whole trip as now!
After all those formalities done I drove to San Carlos on the side of Lago Cocibolca, to get a full view of Central American biggest lake. I continued on road 25 in country side landscapes until Juigalpa and turn on the 7 then 39 (where rain hit me again ☔️) to arrived in Granada a beautiful Spanish colonial town. I've visited the historical center and did a boat trip to Isletas de Granada like an archipelago on the lake, with rich wildlife..
