Getting a number of questions about handicap parking, and whether our buses are wheelchair accessible.

We will have 8 buses running all day and 2 of them are ADA / wheelchair accessible.

The ADA shuttle stop is at the United Community Bank building directly across Airport Industrial Dr from our main parking area off Thomas Farm Rd. See attached image indicating the ADA bus route and let us know if any questions about this.

KDZJ had a visit by social media aviation star, Sarah Daniels.

It was nice having her and the pup drop in for a visit.

Kaia said it was nice to meet someone almost as famous as her.

Another beautiful day at Blairsville Municipal Airport KDZJ!!

We had a Grumman F8F Bearcat stop in and visit.

It's a really cool WW2 Navy Carrier Fighter. 2100 HP from its Pratt & Whitney Radial engine.....top speed of 455 mph. Fast enough to outrun a few commuter jets!!

Kaia made sure to get her picture with it. She also got featured on the front page of this week's newspaper, in a photo with the Skycrane fire helicopter when it was doing fire operations nearby.

The UH60 Firehawk crew and helicopter are still based here, and currently helping fight an approximately 500 acre forest fire near Ducktown, TN. They normally operate with a tank below the helicopter, but switched over to a bucket for this fire.

All of us here at KDZJ are grateful for local companies like Mountain Top Furniture & Design.

This was a much appreciated addition at the airport terminal, and they are already being used by visitors, staff, and pilots.

𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 (𝗞𝗗𝗭𝗝) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

Blairsville Municipal Airport is honored to support ongoing wildfire suppression efforts in our region by providing fuel services and a place for aircrews to rest and regroup during operations.

Over the course of these missions, 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗲𝘁 𝗔 𝗳𝘂𝗲𝗹 have been provided to support firefighting aircraft and command operations working to protect our communities and surrounding forests.

These operations are helping support wildfire response efforts in the 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗲-𝗢𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗲 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁, as well as other regional forests where fire activity is occurring, including the 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗣𝗶𝘀𝗴𝗮𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁, and 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗸𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗸.

𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗗𝗭𝗝 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗲:

Beechcraft King Air 250 — 𝗡𝟮𝟱𝟬𝗖𝗟
Bell 429 Helicopter — 𝗡𝟰𝟵𝟯𝗡𝗖

The Bell 429 (N493NC), assigned to the 𝗨𝗦 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝘄, was supported for several days as its crew established KDZJ as their operational headquarters.

In addition, the Sikorsky Firehawk (N13FH) and its crew are continuing to operate from KDZJ as their headquarters for multiple weeks while supporting wildfire suppression efforts in regional forests.

We are proud that Blairsville Municipal Airport can serve as a valuable resource during times like these and support the crews and aircraft working tirelessly to protect lives, property, and natural resources.

🚧 Runway Closure Advisory – March 26, 2026

Blairsville Airport’s Runway 8/26 will be closed on Thursday, March 26th from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM (local time). A NOTAM has been issued.

This temporary closure will allow the Georgia DOT Aviation Division to conduct aerial drone surveying as part of a future runway line-of-sight improvement project planned for 2027.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve the safety and efficiency of our airport!

Here’s a pretty special edition of the Georgia Airport Directory—“special” not as a limited release, but because our very own Blairsville Airport made the front cover! This directory is distributed to airports all across Georgia, so it’s an incredible honor to see our home field featured.

A huge thank you to Thomas Lee Warman with TLW Drone Services for capturing this amazing snow-covered shot early last year and allowing us to submit it for GDOT’s cover photo selection.

We might be a little biased here at KDZJ, but we stand by it—we truly believe we’ve got the most beautiful airport in the state.

Blairsville Municipal Airport is pleased to announce that EAA Chapter 1211 is bringing back It's amazing "Wings And Wheels" event for the second year at KDZJ!

The event will be moved to a more climate friendly time frame. It's scheduled for May 16th!

Last years event was a huge success, and this years event will be even bigger! More cars and more aircraft!
