⚠️ DOCK OWNER ALERT | WEEKEND STORM PREPARATIONS ⚠️
With heavy rainfall and strong winds headed toward North Georgia, now is the time to check your dock cables, secure loose items, and prepare for changing lake levels!
🌧️ Heavy rainfall can raise lake levels faster than TVA can release water. As docks rise, cables can become slack, allowing docks to shift sideways or placing additional stress on remaining connections during high winds.
A few things to remember:
✅ Check anchor cables, winches, and shoreline attachments.
✅ Secure boats, lifts, furniture, and loose accessories.
✅ Make sure kayaks, PWCs (jet skis), and paddleboards are properly secured so they don't become airborne or end up floating down the lake.
⚠️ If your dock turns sideways, don't be the "hold my b**r" person trying to straighten it during the storm! 🍺
A roofed dock acts like a giant kite. Even winds over 10 mph can make moving one a fight you don't want to have. Stay off the dock during unsafe conditions and wait until the winds calm before attempting repairs or adjustments.
🌊 We're keeping an eye on things, too!
We're monitoring weather forecasts, the TVA lake app, and conditions firsthand here on Lake Nottely throughout the storm.
For our neighbors who are here weathering the storm with us, we wish you the best of luck and hope everyone stays safe!
For those of you who aren't in town, we know it's difficult to keep an eye on your dock, boat, or lake property from miles away. If you're concerned about conditions at your property, feel free to reach out to Shores & Moor. We'll do our best to help as conditions allow.
We also offer emergency dock repair services on Lake Nottely, Lake Blue Ridge, and Lake Chatuge once it's safe for our crew to respond.
Stay safe, everyone!
