We have cutie patooties here at Heather's Hens and Friends Farm!!! I even hatched my own partridge!!!!!!!! So exciting since my show quality partridge hen is so beautiful! I have been trying so hard to find her a roo! *Fingers crossed! Here are our babies!

This hen is my oldest chicken, her name is Penny! She has been through the wringer and still is as sweet as can be! We had a predator attack a few years ago, killed everyone, but she barely survived----the predator actually grabbed her neck and pulled it over her head, so she was skinned alive all around her neck. She was brought in the house, lived in my shower for weeks, medically treated, loved with treats and lots of prayers! And 4 yrs later, here she is! She isn't the best quality---needs better wings, but she is pretty good, and who can get rid of her after that survival story! (She does not have white around her face---it is treat crusts!!)

This is the beautiful chocolate roo I had shipped from Countryside's Little Farm ! He is approx 6-7 months old, definitely has a cockadoodledoo to him, but is the sweetest gentleman. He was supposed to be in quarantine, however he escaped and landed with some other ladies I had in the garage! Definitely a ladies man! His name is Snickers!

I highly recommend this little farm! Amazing birds and easy transactions! Thank you! Can't wait until Snickers starts making some babies!

Another work in progress... But an absolute beauty!!!! Meet Melanie! She is a beautiful mauve accidently hatched from my eggs! I didn't know I had the right mix of colors, but chicken genetics is crazy! I had purchased a blue satin cuckoo named Taco, admittedly he had some brown in him. And somehow, him and a black or blue hen helped produce mauves? I am new to this chicken genetics thing, but I am thinking it was a black hen with a recessive brown?

I am open to anyone helping to educate!!

This is my black frizzle. She doesn't exactly fit into any of my breeding programs, however..... You always need a frizzle laying around! Just think: frizzle chocolate cuckoo...... Ahh, a girl can dream. I think her name shall be, ASH-Lee. :-)

It is so hard to get perfection. You can hatch 100 eggs to get 1 beauty that meets all standards! But, when you meet her (or him), you worry every day that something will happen. "Princess" is currently in the garage cage because I thought she got too thin (she is broody) and I wanted to make sure she fattened up. Egg yolks, meal worms, black sunflower seeds, cuddles, and pictures!!!!
