Truckers warn consumers that they will pay the price for the rising diesel prices 
Fuel has surged past $6 per gallon, and many drivers say the loads they’re hauling no longer cover the cost of running their trucks. Owner-operators are being hit the hardest as fuel bills climb while freight rates stay low.
Trucking companies say those rising costs don’t just disappear — they eventually get added to shipping prices.
Which means the spike at the diesel pump could soon show up in the price of almost everything people buy.
