Brake Safety Week officially starts today!

This year’s focus is on the condition of brake drums and rotors. Take time during every pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspection to check your brake components for cracks, damage, or excessive wear. Address any issues before hitting the road and help keep yourself and everyone around you safe.

We would also like to recognize Walter L., who has earned this award for 11 consecutive years. That kind of consistency is an incredible accomplishment.

Congratulations to Nicholas J. for being selected as the MTB Contractor of the Month for July 2026!

Nicholas has been with MTB since July 2021 and recently celebrated five years with us. Throughout his time here, Nicholas has proven himself to be safety-focused and reliable. He stays up to date with his monthly DFG training and has had two clean inspections just within the past year.

Nicholas was nominated by his Driver Manager, Jim, who said, “Nick is an easy-going contractor who just gets the job done on a daily basis. Nick is one of those contractors who gets up early, makes the most of his time and delivers early. He takes his job very seriously and is a great role model. It has been a pleasure working with him over the past five years, as he makes my job easier.”

Congratulations again, Nicholas, and thank you for keeping the roads safer.

We are proud to have a leader like Scott who continues to advocate for safer driving practices and puts drivers first in his role as Chairman of the Alabama Trucking Association. His leadership and commitment to safety are making a meaningful impact across our company and the trucking industry!

Smith, CEO and co-founder of PS Logistics, was installed as ATA chairman on July 1 after years of service on the Association’s board and to the ATA Comp Fund. He sat down with Alabama Trucking News yesterday to discuss his background, his growth as an industry leader, and his new role as a figurehead for Alabama’s trucking industry.

Congratulations to Million-Mile Contractor Charles L. on being named MTB Transport’s June 2026 Contractor of the Month!

June also marked Charles’ ninth anniversary with MTB, along with receiving his nine-year safety award. Charles was nominated by his Driver Manager, Jim, who shared: “Charles is a dedicated, hardworking contractor who takes pride in his work. He always pays close attention to his revenue and productivity, actively providing input on his load planning. His collaboration with me and the planners helps maximize his success. Charles is more interested in making the right choice than the easy or quick choice. I’ve gotten to know him over the years, and it has been a pleasure working with him. His strong work ethic and attention to detail make him a highly valued member of our team.”

Congratulations to MTB’s May 2026 Driver of the Month, John L.!

For more than five years, John has been a dependable member of the MTB team, consistently demonstrating a strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service. During his time with MTB, he has earned four clean inspections and maintained an outstanding safety record.

John was nominated by Driver Manager Jim, who shared: "John is a very safe driver and always delivers on time. He has a great attitude and will do whatever it takes to get the job done safely and efficiently. John is a great role model and one I wish I could clone."
