Our story started in 2004 with Scott Smith, Robbie Pike, a small team, and a commitment to putting drivers first.

Today, that commitment lives in the relationships our Driver Managers build, the support our teams provide, and the drivers and contractors who represent P&S every day.

Thank you to the Alabama Trucking Association for sharing our beginnings and highlighting Scott’s leadership as ATA Chairman. We’re proud of how far P&S has come and grateful for the people who continue to move us forward.

Most trucking companies chase the customer first and figure the drivers will fall in line. In building one of the industry’s largest and most successful trucking businesses, Scott Smith and his longtime business partner Robbie Pike flipped the script.

Congratulations to Jonathon J. on reaching one million safe miles with MTB Transport! 🎉

Jonathon joined MTB nine years ago and has been part of the PS Logistics family since 2011. He currently works with Driver Manager Jim R. and has earned nine annual safety awards, with no accidents or claims during his time with MTB. This milestone reflects the care he puts into his work every day.

Known for his kindness and work ethic, Jonathon also enjoys sharing photos from his travels across the country. He’s a husband and father, and we’re proud to have him on our team and celebrate everything he has accomplished.

Congratulations to Kenneth L. on being selected as MTB’s August 2026 Driver of the Month!

Kenneth’s positive attitude, dependability, and willingness to step up wherever needed make him a valuable part of the MTB team. He was nominated by his Driver Manager, James, who shared: “Ken consistently brings a positive attitude to work and is one of the most consistent drivers I’ve ever worked with. It goes without saying that he is diligent, dependable, and always willing to do whatever it takes that given day. He never complains when things go less than perfect. He’s coachable and executes the given plan, but also doesn’t hesitate to give his take and provide input. He’s a great team member and it’s a pleasure working with him.”

Brake Safety Week officially starts today!

This year’s focus is on the condition of brake drums and rotors. Take time during every pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspection to check your brake components for cracks, damage, or excessive wear. Address any issues before hitting the road and help keep yourself and everyone around you safe.

Congratulations to July’s Safety Award recipients!

We are proud to have drivers and contractors who consistently demonstrate a commitment to safe driving practices. Your attention to detail, focus on safety and strong work ethic help keep our roads safer every day.

We would also like to recognize Walter L., who has earned this award for 11 consecutive years. That kind of consistency is an incredible accomplishment.

Congratulations to Nicholas J. for being selected as the MTB Contractor of the Month for July 2026!

Nicholas has been with MTB since July 2021 and recently celebrated five years with us. Throughout his time here, Nicholas has proven himself to be safety-focused and reliable. He stays up to date with his monthly DFG training and has had two clean inspections just within the past year.

Nicholas was nominated by his Driver Manager, Jim, who said, “Nick is an easy-going contractor who just gets the job done on a daily basis. Nick is one of those contractors who gets up early, makes the most of his time and delivers early. He takes his job very seriously and is a great role model. It has been a pleasure working with him over the past five years, as he makes my job easier.”

Congratulations again, Nicholas, and thank you for keeping the roads safer.

Smith, CEO and co-founder of PS Logistics, was installed as ATA chairman on July 1 after years of service on the Association’s board and to the ATA Comp Fund. He sat down with Alabama Trucking News yesterday to discuss his background, his growth as an industry leader, and his new role as a figurehead for Alabama’s trucking industry.
