My recent trip to Sri Lanka brought me back to one of the most important parts of my work: understanding a destination thoroughly before I send clients there.

Knowing the highlights is one thing: Sigiriya, tea country, Yala, Galle, the sapphires. It’s another to know how much time each place deserves, which transfers make sense, which experiences best fit your family, and how to connect all the dots in between.

Sri Lanka is a wonderful fit for couples and families who want easy adventure, meaningful culture, and something outside the usual vacation. The culture is truly a highlight, shaped by ancient kingdoms, Buddhist traditions, colonial history, family life, and warm hospitality.

Thank you to Uga Resorts for hosting me across four incredible properties, and to CUURATE for the introduction, warm hospitality, and on the ground perspective.

Sri Lanka Highlights:

🇱🇰 Charter flight to hike Sigiriya -> allows for more time on the ground and less time making your way there

🇱🇰 in the tea country - my favorite hotel of the itinerary. It felt like being welcomed into someone’s beautiful home, with vibrant gardens, cool mountain air, and stunning views of tea plantations from the pool.

🇱🇰 The making of Ceylon Tea: handpicked, withered, rolled, oxidized, fired, and graded. I’ll never look at a cup of tea the same way again.

🇱🇰 Safari in Yala National Park, where I saw my first leopard. This was truly amazing!

The Webb family just returned from Slovenia and Croatia, and we could not be more happy with how their trip came together.

From Lake Bled to Dubrovnik, they truly made the most of their time together. Their favorite part? A boat trip to the island of Vis and a yummy lunch at Konoba Jastožera, right on the water (Slide 6).
