We’ve got our newest employees working on learning our cabling standards in our demo space. The goal is to give them a safe space to fail and learn so they can be better equipped for challenges in the field.

Bringing a 45 door system live today with . Here is one of the 5 closets where our control panels are located. One of my favorite small details of finalizing a system is making sure the programming and device labeling matches and makes sense. It’s a small detail, but it helps the customer and us be able to handle most any service need without having to roll a truck to the site.

🫱🏼‍🫲🏾Meet Keemarius 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾

Keemarius was our Spring semester intern from and has joined us to work a full time summer internship. Keemarius is 17 years old and a Birmingham native. He is finishing his Junior year at Build UP. Keemarius wants to utilize his skills in coding, programming, and computer building to join the technology field when he graduates. In his free time, Keemarius enjoys go-kart racing, laser tag, skateboarding, and appreciating the scenery around him. He has experience in construction, landscaping, blueprint reading, and real estate. When asked about his experience as an intern with us this semester, Keemarius said he has learned the importance of communication with customers and how technology can be applied to daily life. We have truly enjoyed working alongside this bright young man. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Keemarius.

Still a little work left to get everything live with .tech but we love how this turned out. Clean and organized.

We took over some existing Cat5e wiring, tested and determinate everything to make sure it all worked, and added a single Cat6 drop for an AP.

We are firm believers in understanding the big picture. Understanding not just WHAT you do, but WHY you do it. For our employees on the job site that applies directly to understanding your craft, growing, learning, and getting better each day. As a business owner, that means constantly grounding yourself to the ideals and values on which you founded the company. For us at Sophia that means, no matter how hard or frustrating the work gets, we have to remember that we started this business to create opportunity for people and express care for them that reveals they are more valuable than the work they perform for us.

Thanks to our friends Basesix in Birmingham, we were able to give our team a chance to learn about network cable certification a couple of weeks ago. And we are truly thankful for that opportunity. I mention this because I want to honor their commitment to their core values. It’s amazing to partner with other companies who see the big picture, and know the impact our businesses can have in our employees lives, the community around us, and Yeshua’s (Jesus’) eternal Kingdom.

A few months ago, we hired a new technician who was hungry to learn. And he’s been nailing our access control work lately. This is a photo of some work we are doing for a larger integrator for one of their school district customers. So proud to see this standard of work growing within our company.

Got the chance to do some work for long to help him support his long time customer. .jamie3 and worked hard to get this done on a tight deadline to get it live before the new year. I’m excited to see the improvement in their work over the last couple of months.

We had to scramble for parts right before Christmas, so thankfully got us our plenum Cat6 for the drops for pickup on Monday. We had our stock of j hooks, keystones and patch cables from our guys , and snagged this rack from stock at ADI right before Christmas.
