Big things are taking off at BIL. ✈️ ‼️

Billings Logan International Airport has been awarded a $3.5 million Federal Aviation Administration Airport Terminal Program grant to support the reconstruction of our terminal ticketing and baggage screening area. The funding will help modernize the space, improve passenger flow, expand ticket counter capacity and enhance accessibility and energy efficiency throughout the terminal.

Construction is anticipated to begin June 15 and marks another major investment in the future of air travel in Billings and across the region.

We’re excited to keep building an airport experience that better serves our passengers, airline partners and growing community.

Yesterday, Billings Logan International Airport conducted a full-scale emergency exercise as part of a required FAA-regulated training held every three years. ✈️

The exercise simulated a major airport emergency involving a Boeing 727, complete with mock smoke, volunteer “victims” and coordinated emergency response efforts from agencies across the region. These drills help ensure first responders, airport personnel and healthcare partners are prepared to work together effectively during a real-world emergency.

A huge thank you to all participating agencies, organizations and volunteers who helped make the exercise possible. Your partnership, professionalism and dedication play an important role in keeping our airport and community safe.

Tucked just south of the terminal, the Yellowstone County Museum is one of Billings’ best-kept secrets — and it’s way bigger than it looks. From Native artifacts and historic fire wagons to one of the largest public Ghost Dance collections in the world, it’s packed with stories of Montana and the West.

Last month, we were proud to welcome a group of local 8th graders for a tour — connecting the next generation to the history that helped shape our region.

Next time you’re at BIL, give yourself a little extra time. It’s worth the stop.
