🎃 10 Tips for Safe Trick-or-Treating This Halloween! 👻🍬

1. Stay visible! Add reflective tape or glow sticks to costumes so drivers can easily spot little trick-or-treaters.

2. Stick together. Younger children should always be accompanied by a trusted adult. Older kids should travel in groups.

3. Use sidewalks. Walk on sidewalks whenever possible and cross streets at designated crosswalks.

4. Put the phones away. Keep your eyes up and stay aware of cars, driveways, and your surroundings.

5. Choose safe costumes. Make sure costumes fit properly to prevent trips and falls. Opt for face paint instead of masks that block vision.

6. Check the candy. Have an adult inspect treats before eating, especially for damaged packaging or potential allergens.

7. Carry a flashlight. Even well-lit neighborhoods can have dark spots, uneven sidewalks, and hidden obstacles.

8. Practice driveway safety. Watch for vehicles backing out of driveways, especially after dark.

9. Visit familiar neighborhoods. Stick to well-lit streets and homes that are clearly welcoming trick-or-treaters. Never enter a stranger’s home.

10. Drive extra carefully! If you’re behind the wheel, slow down, eliminate distractions, and watch for children crossing unexpectedly.
