This past Saturday, The Harriet Quimby Women of Aviation Fly-in at the Southwest Michigan Regional Airport brought our community together for an incredible day of aviation, inspiration, and connection.

From aircraft displays and free flights to hands-on flight simulations and meaningful conversations with aviation professionals, it was exciting to see so many people, especially young women, explore what’s possible in aviation.

We are also proud to announce that, as part of the event, the airport has officially launched the Harriet Quimby Aviation Scholarship, which will award three local students $700 scholarships to support their pursuit of aviation.

We’re grateful to everyone who came out, supported, and helped make this event a success as we continue to inspire the next generation of aviators right here in Southwest Michigan.

Today’s the day ✈️

The Harriet Quimby Women of Aviation Fly-In is happening today at Southwest Michigan Regional Airport, and we’re excited to welcome the community out.

From 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM, the airport will be open for a full day of hands-on aviation experiences. You’ll be able to see aircraft up close, take part in flight simulations, connect with pilots and aviation professionals, and even enjoy free short flights. There will also be food trucks on site and information for students interested in scholarships and careers in aviation.

This event is free and open to the public, and it’s all about creating real opportunities for the next generation to explore what’s possible in aviation.

We’re excited to welcome the Countryside Academy CTE Aviation Program as part of this year’s event. They’ll be bringing interactive flight simulations, giving attendees a hands-on chance to experience what it’s like to be in the pilot’s seat.

From aircraft displays and free short flights to aviation career connections and scholarship opportunities, it’s going to be a great day for the whole community.
